Tulasi Files - Priority Files

UX/UI Design

Overview

For my first freelance UI design job, I collaborated with Tulasi Files Company to create high fidelity UI designs for their website and social media marketing. As a subsidiary of Tulasi Group, Tulasi Filing Systems has been a leading manufacturer of eco-friendly office stationery including files, folders, and paper bags since 2002, catering to the needs of physical database management. My work focused on enhancing their digital presence with visually cohesive and user-friendly designs.

Problem

Tulasi Filing Systems, a professional and trusted brand, needs a more modern, intuitive way to showcase its products. To enhance clarity and engagement, I incorporated a classic slider animation, creating a sleek, polished presentation that aligns with the brand’s identity. This approach improves product visibility, user experience, and conversions, ensuring a more compelling and professional digital presence.

How can Tulasi Filing Systems create a modern, sleek, and intuitive digital experience that effectively showcases its products while enhancing user engagement and conversions?

Background

Tulasi Filing Systems’ website struggles to present its Priority Files in a modern, sleek, and engaging way. While the brand is professional and trusted, its product presentation lacks the refined aesthetics and interactivity needed to highlight the quality and functionality of its filing systems. The current design is functional but uninspiring, missing an opportunity to create a polished, high-end experience that aligns with the brand’s identity. To address this, I incorporated a classic slider animation, offering a clean, dynamic, and intuitive way to showcase the Priority Files with clarity and sophistication. How can we further refine the website to ensure a visually compelling, professional, and seamless user experience?

Background

Tulasi Files’ website struggles to convey its eco-friendly mission in a visually compelling way. While the brand emphasizes sustainability, its online presence lacks the aesthetic and emotional connection needed to reinforce this message. The product presentation is functional but uninspiring, missing an opportunity to immerse users in the brand’s environmental values. Without strong visual storytelling, the website fails to differentiate Tulasi Files from conventional stationery brands, making it harder to engage eco-conscious consumers.

Research

In exploring sustainable marketing campaigns and well-designed eco-friendly websites, I analyzed how brands effectively communicate their environmental values through strong visual storytelling and user experience. Notable campaigns like IKEA’s Sustainable Living Campaign use natural aesthetics to seamlessly integrate sustainability into their branding, making eco-conscious choices feel aspirational and accessible. Similarly, websites from brands with strong UI effectively highlight their environmental efforts, creating a stronger connection with their audience.

Drawing from these insights, I aimed to reimagine Tulasi Files' Cobra Clip Files by emphasizing their eco-friendly identity through color customization tied to nature-inspired elements. Instead of presenting the folders in a standard, neutral format, I developed a design approach that assigns each color to a different natural theme such as branches for brown, leaves for green, autumn foliage for orange, and butterflies for blue. This approach not only enhances the visual appeal but also reinforces the sustainability message, making each product feel like a direct extension of nature itself.

By combining personalized aesthetics with strong environmental storytelling, my design transforms these everyday stationery items into a refreshing nature-infused experience that aligns with Tulasi Files’ eco-friendly mission while offering a more engaging and meaningful user interaction.

Below are my drafts for the Cobra Clip Files, presented in sketch form, followed by wireframes that illustrate the design concepts in greater detail. I created them using the research of other existing campaigns and product design.

Final Design

My designs for the Priority Files reimagine their presentation by integrating a clear, structured visual system that enhances usability and organization. Each file is customized with a distinct color and label to indicate its level of priority, ensuring quick identification and an intuitive filing experience.

  • Ordinary Priority (Orange) – A bright/neutral design for general documents that require standard processing.

  • Normal Priority (Blue) – A calm and professional look for files that need attention but are not urgent.

  • High Priority (Orange-Red) – A bold and striking design that signals documents requiring prompt action.

  • Urgent Priority (Red) – A high-contrast file that immediately communicates critical importance.
