Tulasi Files - Cobra Clip Files

UX/UI Design

Overview

For my first freelance UI design job, I collaborated with Tulasi Files Company to create high fidelity UI designs for their website and social media marketing. As a subsidiary of Tulasi Group, Tulasi Filing Systems has been a leading manufacturer of eco-friendly office stationery including files, folders, and paper bags since 2002, catering to the needs of physical database management. My work focused on enhancing their digital presence with visually cohesive and user-friendly designs.

Problem

Many eco-friendly businesses struggle to effectively present their products and sustainability efforts, making it difficult to engage and convert their target audience. Without clear messaging and a user-friendly experience, potential customers may overlook the value of their offerings.

Tulasi Files faces this challenge with a website that lacks intuitive navigation, detailed product information, and compelling storytelling. As a result, users may struggle to engage with the brand and make informed purchasing decisions. How can we enhance the website’s design and content to better showcase its products and sustainability mission while improving user engagement and conversions?

Background

Tulasi Files’ website struggles to convey its eco-friendly mission in a visually compelling way. While the brand emphasizes sustainability, its online presence lacks the aesthetic and emotional connection needed to reinforce this message. The product presentation is functional but uninspiring, missing an opportunity to immerse users in the brand’s environmental values. Without strong visual storytelling, the website fails to differentiate Tulasi Files from conventional stationery brands, making it harder to engage eco-conscious consumers.

Research

In exploring sustainable marketing campaigns and well-designed eco-friendly websites, I analyzed how brands effectively communicate their environmental values through strong visual storytelling and user experience. Notable campaigns like IKEA’s Sustainable Living Campaign use natural aesthetics to seamlessly integrate sustainability into their branding, making eco-conscious choices feel aspirational and accessible. Similarly, websites from brands with strong UI effectively highlight their environmental efforts, creating a stronger connection with their audience.

Drawing from these insights, I aimed to reimagine Tulasi Files' Cobra Clip Files by emphasizing their eco-friendly identity through color customization tied to nature-inspired elements. Instead of presenting the folders in a standard, neutral format, I developed a design approach that assigns each color to a different natural theme such as branches for brown, leaves for green, autumn foliage for orange, and butterflies for blue. This approach not only enhances the visual appeal but also reinforces the sustainability message, making each product feel like a direct extension of nature itself.

By combining personalized aesthetics with strong environmental storytelling, my design transforms these everyday stationery items into a refreshing nature-infused experience that aligns with Tulasi Files’ eco-friendly mission while offering a more engaging and meaningful user interaction.

Final Design

My designs for the Cobra Clip Files reimagine their presentation by integrating nature-inspired aesthetics that visually reinforce their eco-friendly identity. Each file is customized with a distinct color that corresponds to a specific element of nature, creating a seamless connection between the product and its sustainability message. The brown file is complemented by branches, representing stability and natural growth. The green file is adorned with leaves, symbolizing renewal and environmental consciousness. The orange file incorporates autumn foliage, reflecting transformation and seasonal change. The blue file features butterflies, evoking a sense of lightness, freedom, and the beauty of biodiversity.
